Casa de Las Materas is the best option for small to big groups looking to stay in Villa de Leyva, Colombia. The building is located on a quiet cobblestone street, walkable to the main plaza where you’re steps from bakeries, coffee shops, and restaurants. The spaces
Casa de Las Materas can accommodate up to 14 people, combining the two units connected by a garage so you have the complete building for your group (view here). Each space has been completely remodeled to provide modern and elegant amenities while enjoying the unique historic charm of Villa de Leyva. Upon entering the house, you will notice a living room, dining room, and open concept kitchen. The living room has two extra guest sofa beds and the dining table seats 6. There is also a half bathroom on the main floor.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a large refrigerator, gas stove with four-burners, coffee maker, blender, microwave, panini, and all the dishes, pots, and pans you need to cook an amazing meal. Or if you’re not in the mood to cook, they can ask a local chef to prepare traditional Colombian cuisine for your group.
The best part of the house is the kitchen that opens onto the inner courtyard, surrounded by beautiful plants, and with another table that seats 4. Perfect for a morning coffee or evening glass of wine.
Going up the stairs you access the three bedrooms of the house. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and sofa bed for children or extra guests. The bathroom has been fully remodeled and features a luxurious shower tower with rain heads and jets. The second bedroom has a double bed with its own bathroom, and the third bedroom has two twin beds with its own bathroom as well. Each room has its own private bathroom, Smart TV with local channels and Netflix, clean towels, and luxury bedding that will make you feel like you are sleeping in the clouds.
In the other apartment, you have a second full kitchen, living room and there are three bedrooms on the main floor. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and a full bathroom with clean towels. The second bedroom has a double bed and opens onto the balcony, and the third bedroom has a twin bed.
