Sustainable shopping is starting to become easier in Bogotá thanks to an array of new businesses opening with a focus on being zero waste. These types of stores allow you to bring your own containers in order to reduce plastic contamination and use ingredients that are non-toxic to the body. In addition to this, you’ll also find stores that sell reusable products and you can’t go wrong with a traditional public market for fresh & affordable produce.

These are some of the best spots to shop sustainably in Bogotá, Colombia.

It’s often easy to forget that one of the most sustainable ways to shop is at the public markets in Bogotá. These no-frills markets are where you’ll find inexpensive & fresh produce, spices, meats, seafood, and more. Some of my favorite public markets in the city include 7 de Agosto, Mercado Perservancia, and Paloquemao. Just don’t forget to bring your own bags!
