Bogotá is normally known for its wild rumbas in the Zona Rosa, however as the pandemic hit, this all came to a screeching halt. Many nightspots have shuttered their doors while others are reinventing themselves to survive until they get the go-ahead to operate again.

For people looking for the social interaction of nightlife from the safety of their own home, cyber fiestas on Zoom are the new way to party (and they’re actually really fun).

The way it works are attendees are given a special Zoom link and there’s normally a DJ on the main screen so everyone is listening to the same music. You might be on camera as well as the moderator rotates between partygoers on the main screen. It’s not required, but I recommend setting up your own ambiance at home by buying a colored light or creating an interesting backdrop to make your own nightclub. Then when you’re featured on-screen it’s time to dance, do something goofy, etc. There are also contests throughout the night (I’ve won a bottle of Aguardiente) and by the end of the night, you actually feel like you’ve had a night out (but it’s so much easier to crawl into bed after).

Here are some of the best cyber parties happening right now in Bogotá, Colombia.

Sego Firm

Sego Firm is leading the way in organizing cyber parties and they keep getting better and better. They have different themes each weekend, you can have a drink kit sent to you, and local celebrities like “Las Cardashians” are even making guest appearances now. The parties happen every Friday & Saturday from 9 pm to 2 am with reggaeton music so get ready to “perreo” all night. Signing up for the party is easy and you just have to visit segofirm.com, enter your email, and the special link for the night will be sent to you. Also, follow @segofrim on Instagram for updates on their latest events.

Oh My Drag!

Drag lovers now have a hugely growing online community in Colombia thanks to Oh My Drag. Every Friday at 8 pm the latest RuPaul episode is live streamed via Twitch.tv/OhMyDrag and then the digital party starts at 9 pm via the same link. The Digital Party has a new theme every week with corresponding drag performances and a live DJ on screen. This isn’t a party you’ll be shown on camera, but you can comment with other partygoers via the chatbox. You can follow @ohmydrag on Instagram for updates on their latest events.

Andrés Carne de Res

Andrés Carne de Res is one of the most emblematic places to eat and party in Colombia and they have managed to bring the party and food right to your door. Normally twice a month (visit THIS LINK for the next event) they organize a special Zoom party where a mix of food, beer, or cocktails will be delivered to your door beforehand and you’ll be able to partake with everyone at the same time on Zoom to learn how to cook the food and make the cocktails at home (all ingredients included in your delivery) with a party at the end. For complete details and to order your kit, send a Whatsapp to 3173656026.

Disco Jaguar

Disco Jaguar is a classic spot to party in Chapinero and they’re recently launched their own Zoom parties happening almost every Saturday at 9 pm. To enter the party just visit discojaguar.com and the exclusive link to enter is on the homepage. The music is usually a mix of classic & new reggaeton with Caribbean mixes so get ready to dance.

BungaRocket

On September 12, Bungalow, Furia, Rocket, and Maquez are combining forces for an exclusive online party. From 5 pm – 8 pm they’ll have electronic sunset music and then 8 pm – 11 pm the night party starts. Tickets are 15K Pesos and can be purchased via THIS LINK or free with the purchase of Chivas extra, Tequila Olmeca, or Gin Beefeater via evedesatogo.com
